Summer Jams


 After a tedious commencement ceremony, Jamie and I each drank a pitcher of suds at the local watering hole to prepare for this Little Feat-serenaded rapture-sketch-jam at the Lilac Festival.  We snuck behind the porta-potties to get into the VIP seating, and sat in the front row passing our sketchbooks back and forth.  

All of the watercolor was actually made with a bottle of root beer I found under the chair there, most likely from a person who had actually paid for fancy seats.


This was in a sketchbook from my California days.  The dorms all shared the same network, so hundreds of itunes libraries were accessible the second you went online.  I spent the good part of most nights perusing this sea of music and doodling.  This picture sounds like Manteca to me...
